Hi Da, These are "ream" (as I think they say in the "Only way is Essex") .... Top job! Your husband must be pretty handy with a lathe as well, judging by the finials on the top. They'd cost a few £'s in a garden centre, I bet. Would love to see a photo of them, when they're "in use".

Hi Janey ... Just like to point out, you did actually put 3 comments ..... lol ..... but we know what you meant :~)) Aren't some people picky :~((

Thank you all so much for your kind comments. I am pleased with them. I wanted them BIG, they are about 8 feet tall and OH then put metal spikes into the feet, so the metal is in the ground rather than the wood.
They will have clematis, honeysuckle and roses, set a few clematis already :-) Pics to follow when a bit more established.

They are brilliant, Dawn, what a clever OH you have. They will be amazing with your selection of plants over them.

You lucky girl Dawn they are fabulous please may I borrow John for a few days just long enough to make me some , I promise to take good care of him . :o))

Hold on Amy I want him too! lol
9 May, 2014
Don't forget I need him for my trellis too :~)) I'll pay top whack, also travelling and living expenses. I've got a rampant "Clematis mantana rubens TRIFFIDUS" that needs urgent STRONG trellis.

Looks as if John will have to take early retirement to fit us all in Dawn Lol ...

How splendid, we priced some up last year, could not believe how much they were, well done to your OH what a smashing job he has made of them, he could make himself a fortune doing these.....lol

Job well done. Wish my OH could still do that sort of project.
