The evergreen trees are Western red cedars (Thuja plicata) and Douglas firs (Pseudotsuga) .

Most of the times the view is mostly green on green. Until fall.

They are native bushes here Katarina. I did not know them before we moved here either. They seem to thrive here on lower Island. Maybe too much. I found them attractive only in this time of year. They are short lived.

Klahanie, try to buy a pair of ducks, which are called "Indian runners" (Anas platyrhynchos) - they are terminators of all slugs in the garden. http://www.indickybezec.cz/
