This was taken through the kitchen window, and really the flowers are much brighter than they look here! Might try again tomorrow in the sunshine . . .

That is a wonderful combination, and your quince is a good size. What a lovely picture from your kitchen window. I would not have any work done with a view like this. Thanks for taking the time to post it Sheila.

Have you thought of growing one in a pot,Janey ,if you don't think your soil is suitable. ?..I dug mine up,before we put our house up for sale, and it was quite easy to move..even though it had been in a number of years,it hadn't made a lot of deep roots....just a thought :o)x

Absolutely beautiful.

This is too good to believe. Love Andromeda, such a good shrub, we call it a bush. A sturdy standby. But the quince next to it, superb. Would you tell me? I notice the quince is on a trellis, I think. Are these necessary?

Thanks Sandra, I hadn't thought of that, the small ones I have seem to get some kind of blight and don't grow any larger.....I may give it a try....:))

Posy, many thanks for your lovely comment - I'll admit this combo is more luck than judgement! Yes, most quinces are climbers and so need support, but elsewhere in the garden I have another, grown as a small shrub. When I get home I'll look for the label (on the Scilly Isles at the moment) :)

Hi Posy - I'm back home now, and surprisingly have found the label. My dwarf Quince is Chaenomeles x sup. 'jet trail' ... the flowers are double whites.
