Lovely plant :-)
Mine had just got to a decent size then I stupidly overwatered it early in the season before it had sprouted and the tubers rotted, why did I do that !!!! had it years should have known better, now I'm back to a really small piece I rescued.

Lovely flower and very exotic.

I have tried it from tubers before...with no success. But i'm thinking...If I could get an established plant it might be easier. I'm in two minds about the greenhouse just now. Growing veg is a lot of hard work. If my tomatoes arent fabulous this year, I 'm going to turn the greenhouse over to precious tender plants and succulents, and enjoy it as a winter garden.

It's beautiful! I used to grow this plant here in San Diego, where the tubers can stay in the ground all year because of our subtropical climate; however, the bugs would eat the tubers. The tubers are poisonous to people but the bugs here love to eat them.

I love the Gloriosa Lily! I've two on the go in the conservatory and another is growing outside. Every year I count the number of flowers that I have. I know that sounds sad but last year I had over 200 flowers from one plant!

Mine have barely emerged so far!

Oh dear Meanie...! How long have they been planted up? I've just put on a couple of pic's of my plants. They are both doing really well, and the pot in the garden has several shoots... I didn't plant the two pots up in the Conservatory until April/May and the one outside was only planted in the last few weeks - I'm very late with them this year!

Five or six weeks ago!
