Thank you Sandra. Well, ironing awaits, and then the windows do need cleaning . . . but maybe I'll get into the garden if it's dry this afternoon?!

Such a pretty garden :o)

18 Sep, 2015

Thank you Terra - but not as pretty as yours :))

That is a pleasant view from your lounge Sheila, even in the rain. Is your viburnum blooming again? Mine decided to push few flowers out too and turning red already.

18 Sep, 2015

Yes, well spotted Klahanie! The Viburnum is coming into flower yet again - quite strange.

18 Sep, 2015

It looks very nice, see you have put your Acer where you can see it from inside.

18 Sep, 2015

Wow look at your acers!. You're like me, I hate it when it rains and there's no excuse not to clean?

18 Sep, 2015

Thank you Siris.

That's it Dawn . . . I'd always rather be in the fresh air!

Me too! I even garden in the rain if not too bad to avoid the dreaded domestics. Thing is I always do a couple of hours tidying before I go out but a full day cleaning would be good for the house.

Thank you, Sheila for your kind words !
Klahanie was quick to spot your viburnum.
This autumn, many shrubs around the country are having a second bloom of flowers. On my blog it is the miniature lilac. Super scent ... just as lovely as in springtime !

19 Sep, 2015

I saw your lovely dwarf lilac, Terra . . . I love them, but mine haven't had a second flush! :((

19 Sep, 2015

Sheila, my mini syringa is a bush grown from a cutting I took some years ago from a mature shrub I pass when I walk to the shops.
(Taken with the owner's permission !)
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that the original shrub was producing an amazing second blossoming, and I wondered whether mine would do so... and, yes, but about a fortnight after it's parent decided to flower again !

So many surprising things happening in nature this year, Terra, that I'll believe anything now!

19 Sep, 2015

yes... ha ha .. including a frog invasion ;o)

Oh, how strange! My comment on this photo has disappeared, but the programme has let me know that someone commented after me. That's weird. What I said was it look absolutely beautiful and how much I love this time of year. Oh, and let me just add that we have now had FIVE straight days of warm sunshine in Angus....a record for this year, not known at all this spring and summer, and very welcome indeed! The garden looks better than it has done all year! Sheila...I just love your garden!

19 Sep, 2015

Yes me too! It always looks very beautiful and serene Sheila.....I love rainy gardens, reminds me of a Lakeland one...:o))

I have a lupin blooming and foxglove and astrantia again plus geraniums, loving it but dreading a devastating frost :(

19 Sep, 2015

Dawn, the frost will come...enjoy it while it lasts. It can sometimes be mid October though before the first one.

19 Sep, 2015

Awww Karen, you do say the nicest things - thank you!

Great to see you Janey, and thank you for your lovely comment :))

Crazy, isn't it Dawn . . . but delightful in its way. At the same time, the Amelanchier is colouring up!

19 Sep, 2015

I love the colours of autumn and you have some lovely subtle ones in your garden.

We had a bonfire this evening - I love those too!

19 Sep, 2015

Thanks Chris . . I love bonfires too. Bronze and gold autumn colours do make me smile, but we just need a few more blue skies to enhance them! (Sun is shining now . . . hurray . . . and we're about to Skype with Chiara, aged 4 :)))

Lovely peaceful garden, Shirley. I love your acer too. Sadly I have lost several of these and the current one is looking vey straggly so I'm wondering if I could prune it into shape. Have you any ideas? I would appreciate it so much. !!

20 Sep, 2015

Karen, we can get frosts Oct too. Sheila, I don't think think my Amelanchier is turning yet. I love the autumn, all the colours until the frost takes the leaves and then a carpet of leaves to clear up. Ugh.

20 Sep, 2015

Thank you Breda. That's sad to lose Acers . . maybe they were too exposed? (they hate the wind) Yes, do try pruning some of the branches if they're not looking healthy, but maybe it would be safer to Google the method first.

Dawn - it's certainly very early for the Amelanchier to turn already, but then it's a somewhat weird year!

21 Sep, 2015

Sure thing Sheila.
