thank you so much all of you, i am pleased with how it has turned out, a far cry from that dreadful crazy paving everywhere when we moved in. - it is still there, but you just cant see it very much now! lol hi Celandine, the tall spikey one is a mexican yucca - but it does have a different botanical name to the normal variety that you see, so i don't think it is actually a true Yucca - if that makes sense! lol a really lovely plant though, and dispite it's apprearence it seems to be quite hardy.

Our front garden is a crazy pave desert. Your front garden looks lovely. Your ideas might inspire me to do something about it. Even though it means extra watering, and I am no spring chicken. I love the central idea of the circular display

thanks Dorjac, i find that if you pic the right plants (succulents mediterainan plants etc) and grow in larger pots grouped together like i have here, they don't need as much watering as you think...this little front garden is a real suntrap, gets sun from about 10am right through to about 9pm in the summer and i proberly only water twice a week if no rain, through July and August the rest of the time it rarely gets watered at all.
