No idea what the "wire netting" effect is - something to do with the camera setting but I haven't investigated it yet.

I think the "wire netting" effect is from the sun coming in through the leaves in the background.

I don't think so Balcony - the same thing had happened on several others I took recently - ever since I turned the wheel on the front of the camera intending to change it to closeup...must get it sorted.

It may be a setting on the camera to exaggerate sunburst, it'll be under 'scene mode' or 'artistic' or something like that depending on the camera brand

I hate on line manuals. I have one on my desktop but never get around to reading it. Oh for the days of manuals with pages...

Sorry Janey, missed this! Well it has plenty of flowers but the whole plant is looking a bit battered with all the dreadful wind and rain. Its one of the shorter varieties and in what passes as a more sheltered spot than some but it seems to be more susceptible to weather than some. I think maybe somebody should produce some circular mirrors with a hole in the middle so we could put them round our hellebores and enjoy the flowers without having to bend double...
