Busy border

Janey

By Janey

Busy border (Cephalaria gigantea (Giant scabious))

I know it did a blog on the Clary Sage, but I couldn't resist posting this today. The border is still singing with flowers and so many bumble bees, it just makes me smile.
Every day I see something else beginning to flower, there are white Scabious just coming into bloom and also a white self set nicotiana, which is very odd as last year I had a deep purple one. Also further down the border, a very pretty sky blue campanula is just opening its buds..:))

Agree with Anget, and it’s a great time of year for making discoveries πŸ™‚. I smiled today seeing one Corncockle in flower, and buds on a swan anemone πŸ™‚

Really lovely colourful assortment of flowers there Janey. Lovely to see the bees and butterflies. More this year than last with the bees, haven't seen so many butterflies.

Thanks Linda, yes so many bees, especially solitary and bumbles. I've been lucky here a lot of peacock and red admirals and tiny holly blue. Yesterday, I couldn't get to take a photo, but a fabulous Hummingbird Hawk moth...such a treat!

They are lovely aren't they Janey. We occasionally get the Caterpillars from the Hummingbird Hawkmoth and they are huge with a big eye on the rear end. They seem to like the fuschia leaves.

Yes they are Linda, very quick and surprising, and just as quickly they've gone. I havent noticed any caterpillars here, they sound incredible though. They like valerian in my garden. They'll hopefully be around this next weekend in the sun..:))
