Thanks Anget, it took me about 6 hours of painting on and off for half an hour a time, in watercolours. I built it up gradually.

You often don't get such nice deep colour with water colours. This is brilliant.

I've never been taught how to paint or draw, so I do my own thing, and put one coat over another. I start with the lightest colours and then work the darker colours in gradually. I tend to use the paintbrush to follow the flow of different things I see. If it goes round, that's how I use the brush too.
