I agree with Shirley, it’s a lovely shape as well as lovely colour, Sue! Looks very fitting where it’s planted, especially with the yellow daffodils underneath. 😊

It started out as a shrub but was broken in half when only two yrs old by the naughty dogs, I saw a gorgeous one on here that was growing as a standard so thought I'd give it a chance and this is the result...

I like this as a standard. very structural.

I really like this, it looks very much at home and in exactly the right spot.

Great to see it being grown in that way, Sue! As Wildrose says it looks right at home where it is & the Daffodils beneath it seem to compliment it very well!

When we were last in Cuenca, Spain, I was able to see many of these planted in wooden containers as half standards along the local "High Street". As I haven't been back in 4 years I don't know how they are fairing still.

I first took notice when I saw it in Stroller's front garden Balcony that was a very long time ago, it was down to her influence that it's now a standard...

Now I can see what it was Sue! I think I like it better as a standard! One of mine has a bad desease where it has spotted leaves and something has been eating it too! Not a pretty site!
