Lovely painting Sheila, and love the colour you've used and how the background fades to show distance and also the surrounding leaves in the foreground. Unless one paints, It takes a lot of work to paint a picture. With watercolour, I always start with light colours and work up to the dark colours last, but my little pictures can take anything up to nine hours of work as it's very intense, but satisfying when finished, so very well done.
