That’s interesting Julia … what channel was the programme on? It’s certainly a special place, with the mountains so close … easy to drive up to the wild flower meadows, and also to watch the paragliders launching.

My very favourite place Sheila We stayed overlooking the lake and like you watched the paragliders , I loved the market ,our friends took their bikes the cycle tracks are amazing . I'm glad you enjoyed it to ,it's special ..

Amy, so glad you know it too. Yes, it’s brilliant that there are cycle lanes everywhere for all those mad keen French cyclists. Where did you stay? I wanted to find a market but couldn’t 🙁 … we were in Talloires on the east bank, and one day drove up the mountain to see the paragliders launching … more mad Frenchmen!

Oh wow Klahanie - I never knew that before! I lived in Geneva with 2 flat-mates 1965 - 67, met Keith there, then 1968 - 70 our first house was a chalet in the Jura (half an hour from Geneva). While there we only visited Annecy once ... an hour's drive, I'm sure you would love it; mostly our weekends were spent skiing! x

Sheila we were at Bradannaz on the west bank opposite side to you , I have photos of the market also the beautiful Annecy streets , how did you travel Plane ,car ? we have a very nice caravan and have spent a lot of time touring Europe but since all this trouble plus the pandemic we haven't been able to go and have missed our adventures , hopefully we will again one day..

Amy, I hope you get to use your caravan again before too long. I couldn’t persuade OH to go by train 🙁, so we flew to Geneva then hired a car for the week. All fine except for those ghastly airport queues!

I hope so to Sheila but have to admit it's getting quite scary travelling, last time we weren't allowed to stop within 200 miles of the Ferry the lay-bys were all blocked off to stop illegal immigrants from boarding any transport , they were running alongside the roads .. I don't think I'd feel safe these days , our van was searched from top to bottom also my was husband patted down ( I think he enjoyed that Haha ) Funny thing is they didn't bother about me :o(
