I love West Dean Shirley … used to go on courses there, a great place for a visit.

Sheila, you may remember I posted a blog back in 2013 after visiting these lovely gardens and you added it to your favourites! I actually mentioned that to Michael on the drive over there ... :o)
There are an awful lot of 'wild' areas now, the Orchards areas especially. I may post a blog, not sure yet.

Very striking, Shirley.

Lush indeed! I do love a hosta.

Thank you both ... I have potted it up this morning ... put some coffee grounds and grit on the top of the soil to deter the slugs and snails. It had better do just that!

Lovely plant!

Beautifully market Hosta. Did you see the hosta garden on the telly from Chelsea yesterday? The grower was growing miniature Hostas too.

Thanks David.

Lindak, I thought his stand in the floral marquee was lovely ... not so keen on the few gardens that were shown. Why do gardens have to have a story behind them these days? I only ever went to the show once, far too busy for me!

I've been a couple of times...a very long time ago though, but I did enjoy seeing all the plants and flowers, although it was very crowded. To my way of thinking...although I'm probably a dinosaur (LOL!) a garden should be of a design, not a story. It should be a way of showing people how they could transform their garden whether it be a large garden or a small one.

I also used to go a very long time ago. I liked it when it rained and the crowds surged into the marquee (pavilion?) leaving me with my brolly able to see the show gardens properly!
Since then we’ve been once to Malvern - lovely and spacious 🙂.

Lindak, those are exactly my thoughts.

Sheila, we loved the Malvern Spring show a couple of years ago. We went to Hampton Court Palace Flower show eons ago (it seems that way!) and chatted with Joe Swift, who was virtually unknown back then. He even shared some of our picnic food ... :o))

What a lovely experience Shirley. We also went to Hampton Court just the once. Now really enjoying Chelsea from my armchair!

Julia, I'm glad you like it too! I wanted a Hosta with some brightness to it, hence buying this one, as most of mine are plain green.
