Beautiful arrangement Shirley...they all compliment the vase.

It's nice to do this, I often pick a bunch too :)

Thanks Julia, the vase is Jersey pottery and was given to me by a neighbour some years ago.

Hywel, do you know, I hardly ever cut flowers for indoors but I forgot to buy some Alstroemerias from the supermarket, hence this arrangement! I should do this more often and save my money ... :o)

That's a very pretty selection from your garden, Shirley. Lovely colours, too.
I've a chap I see who has alstroemerias in his front bay window every visit. He loves them.

As well as saving money I think a bunch of flowers from your own garden is nice and uplifting, they look more natural than bought ones.

Agree with Hywel.

Love these colours together Shirley, and the hydrangea is so pretty. It's nice to have your own flowers inside and to see them close up.

Did they all last well Shirley as I have only ever put alstromerias in the house. It's a lovely collection.

Kate, I have ben buying Alstroemerias fortnightly from a supermarket but there haven't been any on sale for about a month. I then cut the garden flowers, found they lasted for about ten days in a vase.

Thanks Janey, the Lacecap Hydrangeas have suffered recently in the heat but I managed to find some blooms lower down the shrub.

Rose, they seem to last for eight to ten days in a vase, a sachet of flower food in the water helps.

Thanks Lindak.

A beautiful arrangement, Shirley! 👏 👏 👏

Thanks Josie and David ... the one issue is the Hydrangeas are 'shedding' tiny pieces on the hearth.

Like 'Hundreds and thousands'!
