There aren't many fruits this year, but the birds are enjoying what there are.:)

The fruits look good enough for us humans to eat let alone the birds!

Yes Shirley, they are a pretty colour, the pair of blackbirds enjoy them. It's only a small tree and I pruned it late summer, not the best time, but it fits it's space now.
Haha Balc...

Janey, as I've said before on here, Blackbirds are a rare sight in the garden now. Mind you, there are regular visits from a Robin and a Wren so all is not lost ... :o)

Beautiful! I removed my crabs today as they were going black on the tree. Hopefully next year we will have birds visiting. Yours look so pristine!

I remember you saying that Shirley, yes the little garden birds have been flitting onto the bird feeder here all day. Much to the annoyance of bossy wood pigeon!

They have looked healthy this year Karen. I'm sure you will..☺️

Janey, that sounds just like the birds here, far too many Pigeons for my liking.

Far too many pigeons here as well! There are 3 different kinds, Wood Pigeons, Ring Neck Doves & the ordinary, common, everyday pest that dirty so much our streets & buildings & monuments or statues!
The first two I have no quarrel with but the last one sits on the balcony railings of the 4th floor & their dropping constantly fall into our balcony! Apart from being a dirty nuisance they are also dangerous when the balcony is wet after rainfall as they make the floor very slippery.
We get them a lot as our balcony juts out about 6 inches more than those above us. It the same with our 2 neighbours balconies as well, just that they don't have plants on them. In fact they have both been empty for 2 or 3 years now.

They are a pain Shirley, I've one resident bully boy, can't get rid of him at all..:(
That must be so annoying Balc! All that lime dropping on your plants, I am really sorry you have that to contend with! It's wood pigeons here that create havoc. I like having the doves around.
How are your amaryllis doing? They must have buds on now ready for Christmas?
29 Nov, 2024
My Amaryllis are not growing at the moment. I let them flower when they are good & ready. So they will probably flower in March & April.
29 Nov, 2024
Oh I see, we'll see them then.
29 Nov, 2024
The amaryllis all have a bud on them, different sizes. They are doing very well and I hope to have flowers at Christmas. :) not sure if you were asking me as well, but just in case! X

They'll look lovely Karen. I always like one as a Christmas gift. Of all the ones I've had, the bright red are my favourites, just the brilliance of colour at the end of the year..x

Mine are called Apple Blossom Janey, but I agree, the bright red are very seasonal.

Glad to hear that your Amaryllis have buds on them, Karen! Looking forward to seeing some photos of them when they open.
I have only one named bulb that my son gave me last year for Christmas, all the est come from my own bulbs - many from seed I saved & then grew on to flowering (4 years).
One of the first blogs I ever wrote on GoY was about growing Amaryllis from seed! (Back in 2009!)

We pruned our apple trees in August then when all the leaves have fallen off the trees in December we prune the straggly bits off..

Karen Apple blossom is especially pretty and having them in a trough together, they will look lovely..
You have done so well Balc growing them from seed..
That's right Linda, I'll give this little one a tidy up after Christmas. Thank you, I've had it years and always kept it small..
