I think it depends on whether you've watched a scary TV programme or read a scary book recently!!

Janey ~
Is that wonderful Finn in the photo ?

Sorry TT....yes there's little Finney creeping around lol he loves it there!

How exciting Amy.....we had quite a lot of supernatural happenings in our old home and one or two in Spain....but so far this very old cottage has only us living here!

Lady Janey - Was it peaceful before you arrived? I am not getting any super natural happenings at the moment. You sound disappointed there are only the two of you in your cottage. How many do you need to keep you excited? I hope you find my answer - creepy. Why is your question directed only to girls? Why don't you want male opinion and only value that of females? Do you not want any intelligent answers to your question at all?

Oh no KK, quite happy just the two of us. I was used to the presence in our old farmhouse...I felt it looked out for us all...when my daughter was only young she would see the circles of golden orbs and I would hear children in the house when mine were at school. We had only been there for a year after spending months renovating it when we regularly heard the sound of a ball bouncing down the stairs which were open plan. Weird but friendly.

Oh, was there another part to your comment....mmmm.....something about male opinions....what are those??

Janey I have to tell you that we had a house like that as well , he only ever did what I would call playfull things , our daughter wouldn,t stay in on her own , I could tell you lots of things that happened , the funniest being when my husband told me to stop blowing on the back of his head at night .. I was facing the other way LOL ,
He use to take things and then put them back , and he would often find things that I was looking for and lay them on the kitchen table for me , I use to just stand there and say thank you charlie , I think thats why we called our friendly Pheasant Charlie because we say he came with us .....
Everybody said he was a lovely old man who loved his garden and that he was pleased with the way we looked after it .....

Wow...it's good to know these sorts of things have happened to someone else Amy...we ought to swap ghost stories now it's winter lol. When we were away...I had the weirdest experience, I woke up in the night with someone pushing me out of bed...Ian had come back to the UK for a week so it wasn't him lol.....I wasn't scared but there was no way I could stay there as the force was so strong. and I stood up put the light on said I was tired and needed to rest and then it was fine. Strange but true!

Janey this is spooky , you remember I said that we called our ghosty Charlie , and thats why we called our friendly pheasant Charlie because he seemed to come with us .
Well I can,t explain this but last night Tony went to use the computor , he called to me and said .. " why does it say .. turn off Charlie at the bottom of the comp. " The screen was blank apart from the icons . and these words at the bottom , it,s never done it before , almost as though the comp. had been given a name.. Charlie ..It did it again when I went to use it later .. very strange ! ........

There,s something going on Janey , I,m glad i,m not on the wrong side of whater it is LOL

TURN OFF CHARLIE NOW!

4 Dec, 2008

Oh...Amy he's having a joke.....are you scared?? Very very strange...and no rational explanation..I've heard where spirits use electrical equipment to prove there is another dimension. The week before my Dad died...we had all sorts of strange electrical goings on...i would walk into my son's bedroom and the television would switch on.....lights would go off from one room to another we would all be scampering around trying to sort things out. Dad wasn't ill but died of a heart attack.
I think Charlie is still there and letting you know...wonder what he thinks to the new fireplace! lol

Ooh Amy I don't want Charlie to come through the computer into mine .....Aaaaaaagh! lol

Janey every time I come to the computer it says turn of charlie now , it,s never done it before , I know it,s nothing to do with Tony he hardly knows how to turn it on , he always calls me when he wants to do something , he isn,t interested in comps.
Funny you should say that about the electric because at our last house where Charlie was we had this problem .. the cooker would suddenly come on at midnight ,etc. , we joked about it and said he was playing with things he wasn,t use to , my father died as well while we were there .

Charlie when he was alive lived in the old cottage it was almost falling down , we have been told that he spent all his time in the garden when he died they sold the cottage and the acre of garden seperatly , we bought the garden to build on , a builder bought the cottage to do up ... they had trouble there as well , someone knocking on the bedroom doors at night , they had babies so they knew it wasn,t them .
More info next time LOL
I think your talk has brought him out to play ............

4 Dec, 2008

Oh....don't say that Amy.....I'm so sorry, it may be coincidence...isn't there any way you can delete it? Could you tell Charlie how much you loved the garden like he did and that he doesn't need to remind you on the computer screen and it is making you unhappy?
Hope you can get it back to normal......X

Don,t worry Janey , he never frightened me even when I was on my own when Tony was working away , I always told myself that he would look after me and then I felt safe .
One day I went to get my pinking shears to cut some material , I looked in my sewing box where they always were , they weren,t there ,so thinking that I had put them in another one by mistake I went to look there , they weren,t there, I went back into the kitchen and they were laying in the middle of the table , I just said ." thank you Charlie " and carried on .
It was always things like that . I was on my own .
My daughter when she was at home put a button from her blazer on the table then went off to find the needle and thread when she came back it had gone , we looked for it ,she accused her dad but he hadn,t been of the phone , we went to look for a spare button , when we came back the button was there on the table again .
I could tell you loads of things ,
He lived in a caravan on our plot before he died as the cottage was almost derelict , so we were living on his spot , the first we new that something was odd was each evening as it got to dusk we could hear what sounded like welly boots being hit against the back wall .
Thats enough for now ... lol
You must tell me more about yours .......LOL

I will have to wait for somebody that knows about the workings of a computer to see if I can clear that off the screen , that is a real mystery .
x

Being new to GOY I have only just seen this photo and although I'm not a "girl" I'll take a chance and comment anyway. My opinion, for what it's worth is that it is a very good photo which captures the mood of autumn. Lovely.
