It,s very sweet , do they behave like a pet Eileen ? I know that sounds silly but I mean do they recognise your voice and take notice of you , things like that !
17 Jan, 2009
She is like a little dinosaur. I love the way their eyes move in different directions.
17 Jan, 2009
i know what you mean Amy, she gets fed at same time every day so aye she does behave like a pet. she knows when its dinner time. only ciara and her b/friend can handle her cos she knows them . anyone else an she starts hissing lol

Thanks Eileen ,I saw some different kinds of these in a large garden centre and wondered at the time if they would make good pets , so they like routine and they don,t like strangers sounds a bit like me LOL

lol Amy

Beautiful little creature - sounds a lot like my tortoises, they know me and respond to my voice and come running (yes, running!) when I enter the room to feed them.
17 Jan, 2009
they actually run Gee?
17 Jan, 2009
They can move quite fast, Irish, especially Little 'Un - certainly not the 'old slowcoach' that some people imagine.
17 Jan, 2009
I agree with you there Gee , we had a couple when my children were small and if they left the gate open the Tortoise spotted it straight away and were of like the wind we had to run to catch up with them , lol
17 Jan, 2009
they used to be quiet common as pets yrs ago, i remember my neighbour having one. now they cost a couple of hundred euro over here to buy one

Irish, you have your own ark...Lol... a terrific pet, Ciara... I have a gecko and I'm often asked if he knows me... they most certainly do...hahaha... Opiegecko comes to the top of his AQ when i'm adding crickets and I swear he looks me in the eye and says thankyou Mummy when I give him bits of mango! Do Chameleons eat fruit or just insects?
21 Jan, 2009
karma mostly gets crickets and locusts Lori, their dusted with a calcium powder before she gets them. im not too sure if ciara has given her any fruit

Nice photo, interesting pet!
My granddaughter, who has always been a dinosaur lover, is 7 now and has become interested in komodo dragons. Hopefully she won't want one for a pet. :-[ Her mom and dad "adopted" (sponsored) one for her at one of the zoos for her birthday. She will get a certicate, a picture of the dragon and a stuffed dragon. The donation helps support the animal.

what is it called Irish. I love my animals but I dont really find this one very cuddlie
21 Jan, 2009
I'm sure you can cuddle him Donnah, just don't squeeze too hard though. I love him, he's so cute. How old is he and how long is their lifespan? Are they difficult to look after? Are they expensive to purchase and what special equipment is needed for optimum pet happiness?
21 Jan, 2009
oh wow Weeds, ive seen the Komodo dragons on tv, amazing looking.
21 Jan, 2009
hi Donagh, its a chameleon and shes called Karma.
she is 7 mts old GF . they usually live for 5 yrs.
they are very easy to look after . the outlay at first is expensive as you have to buy a special tank and heat lamps but to feed his is cheap.
mostly a diet of crickets and locusts with banana sometimes as a treat.
21 Jan, 2009
A lot easier (and probably cheaper) than feeding my 3 cats! What a fab pet.
22 Jan, 2009
can not say that I ever fancyied one as a pet But I am sure he or she is well loved
22 Jan, 2009
Definitely the closest looking thing to a dinosaur that I've ever seen ! My son would have a fit over this one, it's adorable !
22 Jan, 2009

23 Jan, 2009
