I had some of these that came up one year and then totally disappeared, I suspect it was our local squirrel as other bulbs went missing too.

What a shame! Try again this autumn - and place a piece of chicken wire over the bulbs under the soil! That'll fool him!
I suffered from squirrels in our last garden! Bedding plants, bulbs, just dug up - and acorns planted instead (thanks, squirrels!) lol.

Lovely. The ones like this in Mum's pot for her grave have come up lovely but not so good in my garden - perhaps I've got squirrels too?

Oh, another of my favourites but, yet again, Autumn came and went, and i forgot to get bulbs (like my all-time favourite, the Snakeshead fritillary). Will have to it the expensive way and get some already in flower in pots soon!

Would the Fritillaries GROW in pots, David? - as opposed to buying them in pots, I mean! LOL. I'd love some, but I've only ever seen them naturalised in grass, and I can't do that.
