Mine are like this now Janey ... I like to snip them in a potatoe salad , or stir them in mashed potato ....... the stems that is not the flowers ...Lol ..

No Sandra just snip the leaves to use....:o) Bet you could eat the flowers though..like they do Nasturtiums.
Amy....never thought of them with mashed potato...ooh...very tastey!
Have yours opened yet Eileen? I was given some garlic chives last year with much the same flower but stronger leaves....and the taste....mmm.... easier than using the cloves.
