This is really lovely ... the planting, the stone wall, the change of level ... and is that a sundial?

Pasuki, it is a sundial, my sister bought it for me as a birthday present last year.
It's about 4' away from the obelisk and it's infront of 2 Cistus plants which are growing over the dry stone wall on that side.
The wall is about 2.5' high and there are 2 small steps up through the middle of it that leads up onto that top lawn.

How did I miss this photo? It all looks lovely and OY - did you pinch my obelisk??? LOL. I think it's the same, anyway...was it from Ferndale Lodge?

Spritz, it's a Gardman brand bought from you-know-where !!! (local garden centre to both of us)
It stands 6' above the ground and is a solid and sturdy construction so that it can withstand the south westerlies that can rush through here.
I doubted its sturdiness but it's great :)

Very similar, anyway - I withdraw my accusation of pinching mine! LOL.
I do like the shape. Mine has a climbing rose and two clematis on it!

There's Clematis Niobe and cirrhosa Balearica there and last week i bought a white Morning Glory (can't recall its proper name at the mo!) to join them!
6 Jun, 2009
Haha - one of the Clematis on mine is 'Niobe'!

Thanks Sue :)
Just looking at that photo again shows me just how much everything has grown here in the last few months !
I spent several very industrious hours in this back garden yesterday, i've spent so much time on the front garden that this one had got very neglected.
Boy oh boy do i ache this morning :(

Thanks Drc.
The wall was already there when i moved here, but there wasn't a single plant in the place !
The wall is divided in two halves by 3 little steps by the obelisk, the other part of the wall is along by the sundial.
