Thanks Gee......that part is looking quite nice now...:o)
Oh Wagger.....it's a long time since I heard that word......bet they were warm and snug though Lol! That takes me back to the 50s when we had steel windowframes in our house and in Winter wrapped in cardigans and socks, we watched the ice crystals sliding down the windows in our bedroom on the INSIDE!

Ooooooooo remember it well -hot water bottles at bedtime, coal fires so your face was burning and your back was freezing until finally the whole room warmed up, Do you remember liberty bodices? My mum never made me wear them but my friend down the road had to - rubber buttons, the lot.

Ha...ha... Wagger....I do remember them, I did wear one when I was tiny, all those clothes you had to put on, but still had bare knees and Wellies...Lol!

Yeah - no central heating, sweet rationing, six inch tv screens (black and white, one channel). Careers for girls?

Oh, Wagger...we didn't have a TV, we had to go next door to watch Muffin the Mule before the 5 oclock Newsreel.....do you remember the telegraph pole with circles going round it? Lol Everyone seemed calmer and happier with fewer luxury items. Anyway we were too busy playing out, not like today.....:o(

Yes, I remember it well - and the 'interludes' with the potter's wheel and the London to Brighton train journey speeded up to about two minutes. We got a tv to see the Coronation then Mum and Dad decided to take us up to London to see it in the flesh - boy, did it rain!

Milky I have an Heuchera which looks very much like your its name is Purple Palace and it has lovely sprays of Pink flowers.
Enjoyed your trip down memory lane with Wagger, I remember Liberty Bodices my mum wouldnt let me out without one, and ration books, and playing out in the street, whip and Tops, skipping Ropes, swings on the Lamp posts , Film Stars, Mr Wolf, Kick Can , and so many, many more!

Oh, thanks for that Pp.....Purple Palace.....the flowers though are cream and tiny...not really worth a look.....:o( Do you remember that elastic skipping, where you put lengths of elastic round the legs of 2 chairs and had to dance in and out of them? I loved that....Lol!

I do indeed! How about Maypole Day. at School there was a large pole with numerous coloured ribbons attatched, each child was allocated a ribbon and we danced around the weaving in and until the pole was encased in all the brightly coloured ribbons.
