Day at Dad's and Journey home

You certainly keep your Dad, his house and garden well groomed between the 2 of you lol. Are you very far away it must be a worry for you at times? There is nothing quite like a daughter and dads relationship is there? After 20 years I still miss the way my dad use to pull my leg or just fix something for me.

Well I ususally cut his hair too but she wanted a go today! That was the result!!!! I dont hink he will let her do it again hahaha.
It's about a hour and hlaf drive DRC and yes I'm very close to my Dad. My bother stays up that way too..him and his wife go in every lunchtime to eat with him..but they dont ever actually help doing things..but they popped in today when I was weeding so I handed him a hoe! He acutually did a wee bit! Aw :)
Sarah just started helping last week really..I think she felt a bit guilty seeing me coming home all tired out! Bless her.

Thats a long journey each week Pixi, I`m lucky as my dad is only 5mins up the road,so can get there quickly if needed.
You are keeping his garden neat and tidy for him and how he likes it, thats the main thing, his hair looks neat as well, so well done daughter.
Nice sky shots but please don`t distract the driver in future or you`ll end up driving yourself then who`ll be taking the shots,lol.......

Ach well ..its not too bad Linc..jsut glad I can go up and help him. I would do anything for him ..he has done so much for me! :)

Well done you, Pixi, for looking after your cute wee Dad as lovingly as you do! My Mum would have loved how well you have cut the hedge, and edged the grass! She always had to have a really sharp edge on the lawn, and now I do too! Lovely daughter's going to have to have an operation to get that mobile removed from her hand! Lol!

THanks Lil..yes I know..still miss Mum..she died 17 yrs ago..Dad misses her every day. He used to go up to her grave every day (cemetery is just up the road from him)
I took him up in the care yesterday as he cant walk far now. :)
Thanks Sue..yeah it was a good day and now that Sarah is helping more..my back isnt so bad! His lawn is all spongey..and pretty well kept..not so much now, Im not as thorough as Dad! But he sits in the porch giving me orders lolol. Wow up in the night! Hope you got back to sleep again :)x

Lovely blog Pixi, your dad looks lovely and your daughter and well done looking after him as you do. My dad came down on Friday he is 73 but noticed a sharp decline in him as he looks after my step mum who is disabled and he has to do everything for her. Talked him into getting carers allowance so at least he can get the housework done which will free up his time abit. I live 3 hours away from him but my brother and my step brother keep an eye out for him.

Dad had to look after Mum ..as soon as he retired..she had Altzheimers and he did everything for her..total devotion it was.
Good your Dad got carer's allowance..Dad gets that too..so he pays for my petrol and things. :)

Your Dad looks SO happy to see you! And it's brilliant that you and your brother are making sure that he can still stay in his own home . . . he must really appreciate that. Lovely to see pics like this, and "get to know you better"!
