It certainly looks wild and windy up there in Scotland. Much the same in England and Wales.

Your back garden fences seem to be the open slat design ... a good idea to allow the wind to blow through them rather than the wind knocking them down.

You have lots of seedlings .. what are you growing ?

oh Pixi how awful, we had gales here in Elgin a little while back was really scary, looks the same as you have and it settles then comes in awful gusts, blew a great big trampoline right in my friends back garden. We have rain here today but quite still with a bit of breeze now and then though i think the wind may be getting up a little. Your lovely little cat will be scared too, keep indoors and stay safe, hope it goes away soon.

All bridges are closed here right now..Rick jsut phoned as he was driving towards Edinburgh..said he saw 4 hugs lorries overturned along the way! Not going out in my wee Fiesta that's for sure! So glad I went to Asda and got supplies yesterday!!!!!!!
Yes Caz we had those gales a while back but I think this is even worse!
Poor wee Suki is now asleep on my bed :))))) she was pretty shaken up I think..along with me!

They are in Redditch at his Grandad's house. tis kinda died down a bit here now and the sun is out. Bridges are still all closed. Yeah TT that's what i said. THink they are jsut waiting a while to see what happens. Might drive in the night.

Not quite so bad here but lots of rain and quite windy. Sadly I do have to go out to get dog/cat food and take Jazzypup to the vet as she has a huge cut on her paw.

Its not actually as bad as it was earlier..rain is off. Went out and recued the big pot which had blown into the pond and made sure everything was secure..bloody cold! So now sipping away ay some chicken noodle soup :)))

Yep, really wild here today. Glad it has died down now but we had a gust recorded at 100mph locally this morning and there are loads of trees down. A house not far away has had it's roof taken off. Notice the builders van at my neighbour's, so I assume they have some structural damage. Another neighbour has had his soffit ripped off by his aerial...............should have fixed that when it came loose in May!

As bad as I can remember at least since 1998, perhaps even before that.

Stupid me forgot to take the Christmas wreath indoors last night. Think this might be its last Christmas.

OMg thats awful Som..there are trees down and roofs off all over the place here..someone said the QWaverly station in Edinburgh's roof is off!
Sarah phoned..they are on their way up..but at Runcorn or thereabouts they have to divert as a lorry is overturned! They are going inot the service station for a cuppa now.

i made another christmas cake [everything ready in the box type] cos we have finished ours and this one was on offer. trouble was it said soft butter but i was so busy reading interesting blogs on here i left the butter too long ~ yellow pool of butter in the dish!!!

Probably a bit early to speak yet, Pixi & Cazcat, but it seems to be missing us just here. It was forcast to be 'strong' about three o'clock but it hasn't been. The wind seems to have gone along the Grampians and hit Aberdeen. Some horrendus pictures and clips on the news channels though. Hope everyone is OK.

Pretty wild and windy here in Surrey today, though nothing like Scotland. Guttering blown down, also a little conifer that was doing very well. Sophie doesn't do rain, so we stayed in and watched Casablanca, but without the chocolates as Christmas is over.

lol every day is a chocolate day! I bought myself some in Asda yesterday! mmmmmmmm

You know what, you're right Pixi. I'm sure there's a box hidden somewhere and if not half a tin of Belgian choc biscuits might hit the spot.

Hi Pixi was bad in Bournemout too came home from work to find a hole in my conservatory roof OH has done a temporary fix but the water had got in and watered my plant and my lemon tree for me!

Yes nobody was hurt and OH thinks we can patch it up because I want to save and get new roof and windows most probably next year or the year after still paying back on all the work I have done over the last two and half years! That is my cup of tea and ciggy room a place I can sit and look at my garden:)

Yeah Mr Hywel by evening it had all calmed down..today there is a light wind and rain..again! Like you hate snow..I hate rain especially when it's with wind! grr
Well it was my neighbour fatboy's rubbish that had blown all over my garden..he obviously doesnt use bin liners! Lazy git! Anyway his son was sent out to clear it..and well most of it has gone. Everyone in the street has been out clearing too.
Yeah Suki is my wee baby..she was fine once indoors..slept most of the day. :)))))))

Hi Pixi...see what you mean about the video. It was 91mph winds here in Glasgow. It started during the night so I tried to sleep with my head under the pillow. The noise was awful. We have roof damage in an area that we had had replaced in the summer and a large fir tree down. I am going to put a picture up now !!!!!!!
