I love the foliage of this beautiful Japanese Cedar. In summer it is a blue/green with purple tints turning to deep purple in the winter, I couldn't resist, and do you know what I think it liked me just as much as it jumped straight into my trolley....:o))

Have you Paul? How tall is yours? I'm not sure whether to plant it in a large tub, as usual I see I like I buy, then I have to think where to put things....lol!

Warning though, it does get very big and sometimes floppy.

Thanks everyone...today it is even deeper purple with the lower temperatures.
Shall have a look in a mo Paul.
I shall remember this Vincent, and keep it to a height and shape I can manage...:))
Lol Wildrose, I'm really looking forward to seeing the changing tints each season.....must place it in the sun for the best colouring.
Yes me too Amy, I'm very pleased with it!
Thanks Sheila and Karen, shall post another pic in spring...:))

How lovely is that, we have a small one given to us by a neighbour but have no idea which one it is....I can see why you both liked each other...!!

I'm very please with it Dd, I've planted it in a half barrel and popped in some purple hyacinths too, then mulched with bark. Should look good in a couple of months, saying that with the colder temps, the foliage is much brighter...looks lovely....:))
Thanks Carol, good to see you here again...:))

It looks amazing in its winter colours Janey.

This looks lovely Janey, especially against the red bird bath. I have a cryptomeria, but it's sekkan sugi. It's a lovely conifer, but I think I may have it in the wrong place. It's only about 3 feet tall at the moment, but I believe it's quite a fast grower:-)

Thanks Linda and Ba......it really is a superb colour, now tipped with snow of course! I'm looking forward to seeing the changing colours with the seasons.
Yours looks to be a pretty one Ba, do you thinkmit gets enough sun and light? The planting of this one advises a sunny position, that would help with the colouring though wouldn't it?

I do have it in the sun (if we ever get any) it's just I don't think there's enough room for it as it gets bigger:-(
