Does well in pots, doesn't like east facing position where it can catch winter sun on its frosted buds, prefers acid soil, some shade.

Agree with Bamboo, mine is on a west facing 6ft fence in ericacious compost which I use to mulch round its roots every twelve months or so. It grows happily there sited next to a evergreen clematis and a climbing rose.

So hopefully it should be ok in a NNW garden? I can't believe this, 2 people on here have this plant and I think this is a good omen for me to buy it thanks guys
