Hello GrowsonYou,
Please could you tell me what this delicate little climber is which is flowering now on a sunny wall. The garden was owned by the man who sourced plants for Reed Hall on Exeter University campus, and so it could be unusual.
With many thanks

Hi, welcome to GoY, the flowers look like Bignonia capreolata, but I'm not o sure about the leaves, I'm assuming you live in a mild area, as this is only half hardy, but will survive a light frost if it's grown against a sheltered wall, see if you get any more comments, Derek.

It's very hard to tell because if I enlarge the picture on the computer to see detail, its blurry. Can you take another photo closer in? Are the large, ivy like leaves part of the same plant producing these flowers, because there appear to be some smaller, different shaped leaves creeping up the wall and to the right, along the wire fence, but again, too blurry to tell?

I'm pretty sure that there is ivy mixed up with the plant in question. I think we need a clearer picture.

and it looks as if there is a fig in the fore ground. are you asking about what looks like an orangey/red flower with a yellow edge?

Could it be Eccremocarpus scaber? Leaves don't look quite right, though.

The picture enlarges perfectly on my ipad. No blurring at all. But of course I haven't a clue what it is.

It enlarges on my PC perfectly, Hank - but close detail, like exactly how the flowers are comprised and the little leaves (whether they're furry looking, how many points, etc,) is blurry.

Looks like a fig and there is at least one at Reed Hall in Exeter.
Oh I see now that you are asking about the climber! It's very pretty but I've no idea.

How do I say thanks?
