Even London's on a snow warning overnight here - but there's some doubt about it, might turn to rain instead. It's -1degC today though, bloomin' freezing again...

Well, I am hoping Glasgow will be in a little warm pocket. We expect to be OK tomorrow....it is this evening I am wondering about. Raining at the moment!!!!!! Makes a change as it is usually Scotland that suffers.

The snow has just started here in Reading Berkshire, wish it would go away.

4 Feb, 2012

Just started here in Lincolnshire too :-(

4 Feb, 2012

Just started here in west yorkshire

4 Feb, 2012

Dusk early - very cloudy, looks like rain might be coming - but I guess it could be snow or sleet.

4 Feb, 2012

We had a dusting of snow here in Leigh-on-Sea :o(

4 Feb, 2012

Snow in Reading!! Oh lord, that means it'll be here in the next hour or so...

4 Feb, 2012

2" and growing! Minus temperatures! Local children sledging down the fields .... where do they get their energy!

4 Feb, 2012

Hang on, do you mean you've snow there, Nariz?

4 Feb, 2012

Snowing here now - just started 5 minutes ago, blowing about like nobody's business...

4 Feb, 2012

18.44 pm and very cold here in West Sussex but as yet no snow. I have to go to work at the airport for 4.30 am but if we have any snow I shall cancel. Don't like driving in it. 1900pm and yes it's snowing and coating all surfaces. Keep warm everybody.

4 Feb, 2012

8.10pm. Blizzard of fine snow falling in North Cambridgeshire . About an inch has settled so far

I've just taken my neighbour's dog out for a short walk and he looked at me as though to say " why the heck are you taking me out in this?"

4 Feb, 2012

Sunny here. Days around 24º C, nights around 7º C. Poor me!...tee hee hee!! ; D

4 Feb, 2012

Lincs/Rutland border started at dusk, still falling 9pm, garden looks very neat and clean, no paw prints yet though...

4 Feb, 2012

A mild cam night up here all :-)

4 Feb, 2012

Bracknell (that's 12 miles east of Reading) - light snow started about 4pm. We now have a slight covering and even the gritted road outside is starting to get covered

4 Feb, 2012

None here (Pembrokeshire) and none forecast - expected temp tomorrow 6 - 7 degrees. Really glad we moved here!
Look after yourselves folks.

4 Feb, 2012

3-4 inches of snow has now settled and there's a blizzard of fine snow still blowing (10.30 pm)

I'm looking after my neighbour's dog . I warned them about the snow but they were determined to travel 30 miles to see friends.

They're 90 minutes later than they said they'd be back and still no sign of them

The dogs looking worried and I'm beginning to be the same

4 Feb, 2012

Well I'm off to make a snowman :-))

4 Feb, 2012

They got back into the village about 30 minutes ago and got stuck in a snow drift across the road. It's taken me 30 minutes to dig them out.

5 Feb, 2012

Here we go, we now have snow, it started about 9pm,
Pebbles my Shih tzu wouldn't go out for a wee, Hubby put his coat on and went out with her LOL :0)

5 Feb, 2012

No snow here in Edinburgh, just rain and wind :(

5 Feb, 2012

Yes, Bamboo - we have snow. Why do you sound surprised?
Well done you, Anchorman! That's what good neighboursare for. Hope you had a nip of brandy about your person for them?

5 Feb, 2012

Nariz - maybe my memory has misfired - I seem to recall you crowing about the lovely mild temperatures and sun where you are in comparison to us when we were having snow and ice last year, that's why I'm surprised.

We had about 6 inches last night, snowed for hours, as Anchorman describes. 2 degrees here so its melting, but it'll take quite a while for this lot to disappear - especially if it freezes tonight.

5 Feb, 2012

Our snow started about 9pm in Essex. I was still awake at 2am and peeked out to see if still snowing. One odd looking individual with 'drop down pants' was heaving an enormous snowball along the street. Hoody up/cap on under same/puffa type gilet over anorak/revealing blue underpants. Every so often he paused to pat some more snow onto his creation. Then he slowly rolled it past our driveway. Phew ....thought he might leave it there! About 20 feet further on, he left it, when 3 scantily clad girls came by. I have it on my camera to prove what a mad world we now inhabit.

5 Feb, 2012

My poor cat came in very late last night literally weighed down with snow. I guess he weighed about 20% more than usual. Snow had stuck in to tennis ball sized globes on his underbelly (He's a long haired cat).

He looked very sorry for himself and it took me ages to remove the snow .

5 Feb, 2012

We all have been affected with this cold spell of snow .

Today it did snow but think it snow started to freeze.

5 Feb, 2012

I had to laugh at your story Dorjac - there's something very retro and slightly comforting in knowing that even a modern day 'hoody' with trousers round his knees is sufficiently childlike to make a massive snowball...

5 Feb, 2012

It seems so odd that here I am in the west coast of Scotland with no snow. Makes a change doesn't it Moon Grower? BUT there is always next week!!!!!

5 Feb, 2012

That was an unusual event, Bamboo. We DO have patches of very mild weather during the winter months, but we can ALWAYS rely on having a substantial snowfall at some time. Having said that, I think you poor guys in Britain have got it much worse - our temperatures have now gone up enough for the snow to become rain - and lots of it! Either way - we're STILL stuck indoors! I see 'cabin fever' approaching! :o(

6 Feb, 2012

Another mild morning here Linda and no snow predicted :-)

6 Feb, 2012

I think we are clear until Friday at least Moon Grower.....fingers crossed.

6 Feb, 2012

Temperatures nearly 5 degrees today, despite the forecast - melting fast, even on the lawns. I could even hear dripping at 2 a.m this morning with it melting. I'll be out there with my broom later, clearing my garage access...

6 Feb, 2012

Very little melt here

6 Feb, 2012

Lovely sunny blue sky morning morning here now at 8.45am in Essex. Relatively mild too, and the thaw progresses. Even the Hoody Snowball has vanished from the side of the road. Let's hope this is it for this end of 2012 winter. Somehow I doubt it.

7 Feb, 2012

Yes a second sunny morning brilliant blue sky but still slippy under foot and frost now got a fur coat to keep cosy

Mind you yesterday there was a heat in the sun ..

7 Feb, 2012

Anchorman, Re your cat, I have found the best way to get the snow balls out of their fur is to bush them out, so much quicker too, brush needs to be a well spaced stiff one if you know what I mean :0)

7 Feb, 2012

Yes after some messing about I found the sort of thing you're describing was the best way too.

7 Feb, 2012

Oh! Good, glad you found a brush & that it work for you, Who's was the brush LOL

9 Feb, 2012
