Cold comfort.

The open gardens season is upon again. There are 7 gardens that open as a group twice in the season in my area. I was unable to visit them the last 2 years due to ill health. This year i am well enough and have been looking forward to going. The first date was for today but after having such a lovely week the weather just had to turn wet and cold again. despite that i was determined to go and was even able to talk Rafique (hubby) to come along too. We were both frozen (especially myself as i wear saree’s) but it was such an enjoyable day,it worked like a tonic.Looking forward to July’s opening now and hoping the weather will be more improved.

You sound as though you had a nice day out.It has been really cold here too.In fact I have covered some of my plants with fleece tonight,as although it hasn't given frost,I am not taking any chances.they have forecast 2 degrees here tonight,.Brrrr

Visiting gardens is such a good way of finding out what people in your area grow well. I hope you got lots of inspiration. A saree would not be the ideal wardrobe for your outing. You will need to take a tip out of Princes Dianas' book and wear lots of Damart layers under it.
