Is this site secure !

this question often comes up and as far as I know it is secure. having said that don't give any personal details /emails etc on the open forum. It doesn't flag up on my system [yet].

I have never seen that sign but I agree with Seaburngirl not to give any personal information on an open forum.

If I press the site information (i in a circle) it tells me this site is not secure and has done for a long time. I asked the question on here too and answers were as above.

I have also seen that message and would agree with all of the above comments. Don't post anything personal eg. Email address, telephone numbers etc. Also it's worth pointing out that it's NOT a good idea on any social media site to post when you're going away.

I have just flagged this blog to admin. One person flagging may not elicit any response but it is off putting to read that sort of information when you enjoy the site. Maybe a few more flags would bring it to the attention of someone in admin.

Let's just say this - NOTHING IS SECURE 100%. Assume that anything you post online becomes public domain. Nothing nefarious has happened to me, but I still see spam on this site, so no, it's not totally secured. The fact that we are having this conversation suggests that it isn't.

I've done it only in PM. I never had a problem with that. A few trusted members here have my home address as well.

I have also flagged it as suggested by Scotsgran.

No need to flag. Its simply because the www//http etc address has a new addition to which the site owner can opt in or out. It has never mad any practical difference to me or anyone I know of. No need to worry about it.

I don't understand your answer Steragram but thank you for letting us know we do not need to be anxious about it. Maybe I missed an earlier message about changes.

Oh sorry Scotsgran. I was referring to the address of the site - which for us is www.growsonyou.com

Site addresses can have additions to this, eg http// and its one of these additions that was introduced a few years ago - now sites without whichever one it is are sometimes flagged as being insecure, but as far as Goy goes it has not so far seemed to make any difference.

Not sure whether this makes it clearer or even more complicated - but you're right, t doesn't seem to be worth us worrying about. And there's nothing we can do about it anyway - its up to the techies.

That is clearer Steragram. I must admit to not taking too much notice of stuff that appears. If I do not like the look of something I just turn it off and it has usually gone when I come on again. Lol I'm too old to worry and I do not do internet banking or buy stuff online so I would not be very interesting to hackers. I have a friend who emails now and again. They seem to be hacked on a regular basis but I don't know why. I can spot it is not from my friend right away and don't open the emails.

While on the online security subject could I add a warning not to post photos which have location information attached either.
I'm no hacker but given the coordinates included with some photographs, particularly phone pics, I could find out where they've been taken in less than 15 minutes easily

The not secure message always comes up when I log on I've often wondered if I should not be using GOY for that reason ...
Darren do you mean garden or photos taken in the house because we often write blogs about locations we have visited ?
