The ' Blues'

Following last week’s variety of butterflies in watercolour here are the blue butterflies. I have never seen a Purple Hairstreak.. Not surprising really, as they live in the tops of oak trees. Apparently you can see them flying on warm summer evenings. I have seen the Common Blues in the fields around us and also the Chalkhill Blues on coastal paths. As for the Silver Studded Blue.; I am told they are rare but can be seen in Wales and The Isle of Portland. Holly Blues frequent places with holly and ivy and are often found in churchyards. Can’t say I’ve ever seen them; but haven’t really looked till now. Tuesday 11th August

These are so beautiful - I can't wait to see what you will turn your talent to next. I can't draw or paint for toffee so am in awe of your talent.

The poppy pictures are wonderful. I've just been back and looked at your other watercolours - have you ever thought of being a botanical artist?
