I fell in love with these little beauties when Bjs gave me a blue one. I think its name ‘Kingfisher’ suits it very well. It is gorgeous and late flowering. The first photo is from October last year. the second how it is now.
I went to the Early Bulb Day in Dunblane and came home with another two. I have repotted them and am keeping them in the greenhouse till the weather improves a bit. I will plant them in their permanent homes later.
Beth Evans is a soft pink.
Malkensis is white
I will be on the lookout for different corydalis now I know they like our garden. Stirling SRGC has a show in Kincardine Community Centre 12 noon to 4pm on Saturday 23rd March so I’m hoping I will see some of you there.

Aren't they lovely. I've both of these too Sheila - when you plant them out - remember to mark where they are, they will be disappearing pretty soon!
My C. elata suffered pretty badly with being waterlogged and although I lifted it and it recovered - I planted it in a different part of the garden and sadly no sign!! It should have been a mass of foliage by now!

Have you put a photo of yours on yet Sticki? Yes Scottish, they are lovely. It has been exceptionally cold weather maybe it will come on if we get some heat. I was worried about 'Kingfsher' as I had not noted where it was although I could see it on photos. I was relieved to see it popping up in just a few days.

Melchisdec
the blue ones should show in the garden centres soon.Usually they are a form Corydalis Flexuosa and are various shades of blue, One is called 'Blue Panda And all have been brought into cultivation in the 1990s so recent, the name Blue Panda tells all they were found growing with Bamboo by by naturalists studying the Panda in China.
Corydalis kingfisher is a hybrid so a little different but won't bore you with the details.

I'm sure we wouldn't be bored, I love learning about all kinds of plants and I hadn't heard of Kingfisher before, I'll look out for it in the garden centres.

Hi Bjs I know it is a hybrid of Corydalis cashmiriana with C. flexuosa, produced by the Keith Lever of Aberconwy Nursery. The flowers are brilliant sky blue, a quality derived from the cashmiriana parent, and are produced over an astonishing long period, from early summer onwards. The other two flower in early to late Spring.
