Wee ginger bumble bee

In my opinion, yesterday, Friday 20th July has been the best ‘summer’ day by far. No rain – not even a tiny 10 second shower graced my garden, much to my pleasure, I would like to add!
Whilst many insects, honeybees and bumble bees flitted about the garden enjoying the sparse choice of flowers I have on offer at the moment. This little chap enjoyed the solitude and pollen the dicentra was offering him.
I hope you enjoy these pictures….

Wow you are so good with your pics and your Bleeding Heart is lasting well, mine went over weeks back....

Thanks for your lovely comments. Please you enjoyed my pictures.
That Dicentra has been money well spent - I tell you!! Been flowering since 1st week in May. I bought them last year and they were quite expensive at £6 for a 9cm pot. They are doing exactly as stated on the label - flowers all summer!!
Lincslass...these are not like the other dicentras which flower in spring then die back - they are summer flowering ones - low growing which is great because you can really see them at the front of the border :) Dicentra King of Hearts.
Steragram..the camera is my new phone...Samsung Galaxy S3 - all singing all dancing - smartphone.
Picture quality is great and for close-ups even better!

Great photos Scottish. I think humans and animals alike are enjoying the summer weather. I hope it lasts a while now.

Ah, how lovely! I love these wee gingers! My Cotoneaster tree was absolutely alive with all different kinds of bees yesterday...it was a bit scary to go close! Back to miserable here today Scottish, hope you are still in the sun.

Gosh, Scottish, aren't smartphones wonderful? All I can do with my phone is make phone calls and text...
22 Jul, 2012
They sure are Steragram :) I can't even give my mum my old phone - it's far too technical for her - she just wouldn't cope. She can call and can only text the word OK. If we text her - we have to make sure the answer can only be ok :)))))

That's all I can do on my old 'pay as you go'..and as I hardly use it,only in an emergency..it's mostly switched off ! ..I use the house phone instead...when it's the free call times :o) ..I have a brand new one still in it's box, with all the mod cons,..camera etc..but the digits are so small and the screen,I find it difficult to use with my eyesight..it was bought as a present two years ago..and I do feel guilty not using it ..:o(

Brilliant pictures, Scottish. Bees and their energy, whatever the weather, make me feel quite exhausted and ashamed of my desire to lie down in a cool, dark room. Lol!

Bloomer my eyesight isnt great either but with these new smart phones you can increase the size of the lettering etc.
Gattina we all like to lie down in a cool dark room at some point :)
