charity plant sale.

Every year our village hall holds a charities fair, where table top sales are held for registered charities. Local branches of Oxfam, Marie Curie, British Red Cross as well as local community groups were out today. I decided to sell plants and donate the proceeds to our local hospice.
I was really pleased I had chosen this charity as the stall that they had booked remained un-occupied all morning. They looked after a dear friend with such care and compassion I was pleased to give to them today.
Sadly, despite the advertisements and the glorious weather, not many people turned out.
Most of the plants have been raised from seed or from cuttings. I did buy a few small plants to grow on and I took advantage of a BOGOF on cyclamen to have a good selection.
The plants I havent sold will go: on the back path/in the fruit cage/on the raised bed walls/on the foundations of where the wendy house used to be. Spritz knows where I mean :o)
So not the best of sales but a small contribution will still be welcome.
This little chap kept me company all day and even encouraged a youngman to realise the Harlequin is not the beast reported to be. They eat greenfly too!

always a great way to add plants to the garden & help raise abit of cash SB. Its a pleasure to donate plants. The harlequin did cause abit of a stir at first but nature has distributed all species of creatures around the globe for millions of years 'She' doesnt need to take notice of red-tape to enter any country eh ? ;-)) everything finds its place eventually.
