Do look at today’s lovely Google ‘doodle’ if you get the chance before midnight . . . with sound on to hear Debussy’s “Clair de lune”! If you’re patient (and a romantic) – and see it through to the end, it will make you smile :)) Worth two minutes of your day.
I found it when Googling ‘pink Hibiscus’ inspired by Bjs’ blog.
This is one of my favourite Phloxes, to make this blog more colourful!
My most recent watercolour . . .
The lake at Ashwood Nurseries
Have a good day everyone :))

Hi Annie, Hi Susanne, thanks very much!!

I love your painting. It looks so gentle and calming. It must be such a relaxing hobby and so worthwhile too.
Off to listen to Google now.

Thanks Chris . . . I used to do much more painting than I do now. In fact because I like to be out-of-doors far more than in, it's relegated to the colder months.

Thanks Julia . . . that lake is so beautiful: pity it's so far away (John's garden at the nurseries in Kingswinford, West Midlands, only open four or five times a year).

I love the watercolour especially the soft tones you`ve used its very relaxing.
Ashwoods is one of my favourite nurseries I`ve always been pleased with any purchases from there, I also enjoy visiting John Masseys garden when its open.

Lovely pictures Sheila - your watercolour is very good.
I don't often click on the Google doodle but it caught my attention earlier - almost gave up before the end!

Thanks very much Phyl . . . and lucky you to live not-too-far from Ashwoods.
Thank you Scottish - yes, it's a much longer than usual Doodle, but I love the imagination and originality in their making!

Thank you Gill! There are some very clever software designers around, and just SOME days - when there's an anniversary of someone famous for example - when you click on "Google" to look up something, instead of the usual colourful word Google on your screen, the letters G O O G L E are designed into an appropriate pattern.
The one commemorating Debussy showed a night-time scene with a boat being rowed slowly across the water, with La Mer playing softly in the background. It was very unusual and original. BUT these 'doodles' seem only to appear on PCs - my OH doesn't get them on his iPad. Hope you see one soon!

Thank you Sheila for explaining! I use Google chrome so i don't see any sailing boats etc. Lol, But will research and see.

OK, my turn . . . what is Google chrome??!

Ermmm.....think it's the new Google?? (like an upgrade) Sheila you are asking me about computers? I only know how to work them not how they work....LOL.

Google Chrome is a web browser, like Firefox and Internet Explorer. You can download it for free. It's supposed to be faster than either Firefox or IE. I keep wondering whether to try it. Are you pleased with it, Grandmage?
21 Sep, 2013
Yes very Melch. it even corrects my spellings for me!!
