At last! A beautiful warm sunny day, and we were even lucky enough to enjoy supper in the garden.
There were some good smells wafting about . .
rose, Laura Ford
perennial Geranium
Eleagnus ‘quicksilver’ . . scentilicious . . heady and very strong!
Blue Cornflower in the wild patch
Photinia davidiana (I think??) pretty in pink anyway
Let’s hope we can all enjoy a warm, sunny June.

Thanks Stera - glad you both survived the fall (it must have been the excitement of being at the beach!).
Thank you Vjd :)

I hope you don't have too many bruises tomorrow Stera! Sheila, I didn't know that Quicksilver had a strong scent...but then all Eleagnus are scented aren't they...its just that they don't flower so much here, so I've never had the pleasure!

Yes' let's hope we do have more sunny weather....everything looks better in the sunshine. But, although we have had two nice days here, I'm not convinced it will stay! It's been one of the worst springs here in Essex for many years! We had our heating on Thurs/Fri evenings and now it sweltering but, we had some light rain Saturday morning before the sun came out.
You have some u usual shrubs, it seems.

I too love that rose!
It was very humid here today so not a lot of activity!

Karen . . . Quicksilver has as strong a scent as Sarcococca!
Thanks Paul - yes, topsy turvy weather everywhere this year it seems, but I'm optimistic now . . .
Chris - sitting in the garden is an excellent Sunday activity :))

Thank you Paul. The rose is near the kitchen door, and the first scent you're aware of as you walk into the back garden . .

My Brother-in-law has really got me interested in creating a wildflower garden. He started one last year. I was amazed at the amount of colour it provided...

What a wonderful rose! Yes it been a lovely day. We went to the beach . OH fell on some slippery weed, I moved to help him and fell myself - neither of us hurt but uncomfortable wet and sandy for the journey home!
