Viburnum opulus with Eleagnus ‘Quicksilver’ getting in on the photo on the right :)
Blue Aquilegia
White Lilac
Osteospermum ‘Serenity Lemonade’
Dwarf Jacaranda (which may flower in about 10 years time?!)
White Aquilegia, kindly sent to me by OHMelchisedec
Dish with Nemesia ‘Lagoon Blue’ and pink Petunia . .
. . if you are nimble, you could get down and enjoy the lovely perfume of this Petunia!
Lovely to enjoy a warm day in the garden – thanks for visiting.

Thanks Linda . . I wouldn't normally choose such a pale colour, but the scent swayed me :)

Thank you Brian and Julia for your kind comments; thank you Vic - I've had that dish forever, and have never managed to find another like it :)

A lovely combination, dish as well.

Thanks Feverfew :)

Lovely Sheila. We've had sunshine, a cool breeze and some heavy downpours today! Hope it doesnt destroy all my apple blossom.

You have a brilliant garden and that dough bowl display is ingenious. Is that a dough bowl?

Fabulous flowers Sheila. Where did you get the dwarf Jacaranda? Do you know how big it will get? Love the lilac, and the nemesia too.

Thank you Karen - good luck with the blossom.
Thanks very much Paul - what is a dough bowl please?!
Thank you Sue - to my astonishment, I grew the Jacaranda from seed, and gave away the other four! In a pot, I doubt it will get above 15".

the very last picture. Looks like a dough bowl used for that display. I could be wrong

The shape looks a little odd in the pic - it's a solid concrete dish, circular, with a diameter of 60cm (2ft).

oh ok, my bad.

Not surprised you were astonished Sheila - what a great achievement! All you need now is some miniature flowers...

No worries Bathgate . . .
Thanks Sue - I'd been hoping to grow a Jacaranda for years, so this one will be carefully cherished!

I do love the White Lilacs ....I can almost smell it.
Does your Snowball Viburnum suffer with black fly Sheila?? I had two customers with one in the past and both suffered terribly !
23 May, 2016
Lovely photos, Sheila! I am so pleased to see the aquilegia doing well. You are obviously a whizz with seeds. I'm awful ?!
23 May, 2016
Thanks Paul . . . yes, in the previous 2 years that Viburnum suffered so badly from blackfly that I sprayed it and then in desperation decided it 'had to go'. So I cut it RIGHT back to a stump of about 15" and then amazingly this year it's decided to grow and be healthy!
Thank you Susanne: I've only succeeded with seeds for the last year or two, discovering that a mix of GrowSure 'seed and cutting' compost mixed with Vermiculite seems to work :)

Love it all Sheila, especially that lovely soft yellow Osteospermum. I am trying hard this year to have plants in shades of yellow for OH, his colour blindness means yellow is a good strong colour for him to appreciate! Pointless planting anything red as he cannot see it. :o(
25 May, 2016
Thanks Shirley - aww, that's hard for your OH :(
25 May, 2016
Poppies, Pyracantha & Holly berries all just look like 'shapes' to him! I cannot imagine being unable to see a field of bright red Poppies .....
25 May, 2016
That makes me appreciate my reasonable vision even more Shirley . . .

Lovely to wander round your garden although, as usual, I'm a bit late, I love your white lilac, beautiful.

Thank you Gee - good to see you :)
