Thanks Julie ... I have to leave all the new plants in their pots until we have had a new path built! OH told me this afternoon that he asked the builders to pave through the archway too so that means some plants, bulbs will need re-siting which isn't it the best time of year to do so ... grrr!

Sbg, we have only ventured about 4 miles away from home for months, apart from a longer drive to have our vaccinations, so today felt liberating! I have taken cuttings of Bowles often but the last specimen I had was removed before I had thought of taking any. Another senior moment ... :o(

I so envy you Shirley. It’s the little things like buying plants for your garden, planning and pottering about that makes us gardeners happy. Like Audrey Hepburn saying “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow”. So glad you enjoyed yourself and possibly feeling more optimistic about the future.

Kate, I'm certainly feeling cheerful as we went out again this morning in search of bedding plants for two manger baskets. Found a lovely selection and also some more plants for the garden!

Paul, we are hoping the fruits will be good for the birds to eat.

Sounds like you had a lovely time and got some really nice plants. Those cutting of Bowles Mauve you sent me few years back did so well. I even took cutting and gave to some friends and family yet for some reason this winter killed mine. Love it so much and it's so good at giving long colour, it's on my shopping list to replace it 😀

Kate, yesterday I dug up some Primroses to re-site them all to one area and just hope they will flourish. I watered them in and will probably do that again tomorrow.

Jen, I'm pleased those cuttings thrived in your garden. The original plant did become woody after a while so this one should enable me to take more cuttings at some point. I find it flowers virtually all year.

I know what you mean Shirley! Just getting in the car and going for a drive does us good! Our main garden centre is about half an hours drive from here and we went the other day and I also have plants that " fall" into the trolley! Haha!

Well done Rose . . . it's such a tonic for us gardeners!

Earlier today we had our son, daughter-in-law and 8 year old grandaughter round. Oh, it was so good to be out in the garden with them, cuddles but not kisses, hot cross buns too! :o)
