Roses in bloom today.

I had a look around the garden earlier and was pleasantly surprised to see just how many Roses are flowering.

They have not been treated with any chemicals so there is some Blackspot and many Aphids, the latter for the birds to feast on!

Colour wise I don’t have a favourite, possibly the yellow ones, with the orange being the least as I still can’t get to like the tones to this. It was a free gift some years ago at a garden centre, incorrectly labelled as I found out later.

This is it … a floribunda ‘Irish Eyes’

‘Rhapsody in Blue’ is a lovely soft mauve, not blue at all.

Further along this side of the garden is the fabulous ‘Perennial Blue’, again not a blue at all. This was gifted to me by Karen in 2015 and becomes more floriferous each year!

I do think that the Roses are going to have many more flowers this year, possibly that’s down to the wet Winter, who knows?

This is a floribunda, ‘Champagne Moment’

In the same border, a very sunny site in the garden, is the climber ‘Iceberg’, a very young plant but thriving.

Across to the raised bed is the peach patio Rose that came from our previous garden back in 2001, just shows the longevity of a Woolworths Rose!

The ‘Belle de Jour’ another floribunda rose, has a vanilla scent and is planted close to the doors of the summer house, therefore the scent will waft in when the doors are open, perfect! Mind you, the Leaf cutter Bees seem to have found it tasty again.

Along from the ‘Perennial Blue’ is a white climbing Rose, no name or perfume to it, but a pretty one all the same.

Now this is a highly scented Rose named ‘Korresia’ in a lovely shade of yellow with dark foliage.

Another yellow Rose, ‘Chinatown’ if my memory serves me correctly.

and finally, these have faded to a lovely pale yellow, almost cream, from their opening colour of deep yellow. I bought this as ‘Peace’ but am still unsure if it is that Rose. Whatever the name, it has the most gorgeous old-fashioned perfume.

Today is our wedding anniversary, 45 years wed, so not just the F.A. Cup Final!!

A little late but congratulations on your wedding anniversary.
I love your roses. I agree that this year they DO have a lot of flowers but ours aren't lasting very well due to the hot, sunny weather.
I do love Rhapsody in Blue - what a colour!!

Happy belated anniversary, Shirley! Hope you had a wonderful day.
You've a beautiful collection of roses! Can't quite pick a favourite! But, perhaps Champagne Moment is just winning it for me.

Thanks Kate, C Moment seems to be popular with a lot of folk! I have been dead-heading Roses this morning, lots of Ants all over them, yuk!
