Collecting pollen

The rain had stopped an hour earlier so I took a look around the garden to see what I could do later when OH would be watching his favourite football team on the TV.

I found a few Hellebores had gone to seed already and then spotted some of the horrible wild Garlic poking through, noticed some Forget-me-nots could do with moving as they are so close together.

Then I heard a very loud buzzing coming from around the Crocus that had opened up in the sunshine … the pictures tell what happened next.

A very active Bee and a delight to see it today.

Thanks Sheila, it was fascinating to watch the Bee working so hard.

Bees just adore Crocus don’t they. I’ve on.y seen a few very wet and bedraggled ones around here. The weather has destroyed them!

Karen, it must make it very hard work for the Bees. We had a damp start to the day but sunny by lunchtime so I got the lawn edges trimmed.

How lucky of you to catch a bee at work on the Crocuses, Shirley! 👍 I haven't seen any this year yet.

Shirley, I had two of these big buff-tailed bumble bees on my crocuses recently. I thought they seemed a bit drowsy, as though they had just woken up, but anyway, they were getting on with the job.

Kate, it certainly make me smile.

David, raining yet again so I doubt many Bees will be out collecting pollen today, shame.

Josie, I think I would be a drowsy Bee in this horrible weather!

It's raining here as well & now it's a very windy afternoon - not really a day conductive to harvesting pollen!

It has been raining, heavily at times, and has now turned quite cold. Roll on Spring sunshine please ...
