Well saved Sue Mrs Fox is so cute with her family they look splendid in their nice new coats ,her other garden friends will be jealous !

I would have done the same thing, I am always mending my garden ornaments, some like yours are also over 40yrs old and were made for me when my family were children, I too have some rescued from mum and dads garden, ok they might be well weathered but there is a home for them here, a bit of TLC does wonders for them.....

Ha ha....the bionic fox. We have the technology to rebuild her!
It's very nice to have older items in the garden. My garden is all very new so I hope to be able to introduce some older items without them looking out of place!
I've been to a couple of our local beaches but not been able to find any nice driftwood yet, to go on my stone chip area by my new shed!

Amy, I draw the line at gnomes! Lincslass, sentimental reminders of childhood. I remember Owl from when I was a youngster. How could we possibly discard them?
Modern glues and other current technology but do we have the will to mend these days in today's throw away times, Paul?

Dd, there is some cement glue on the market, would have to ask OH what it is called. Used this to stick Sirus Statue's head back on when I toppled her over and broke off her head. Although I prefer natural coloured stone, painting can help stop the water getting into the pores, (paws, no pun intended)

Well done on the restoration. I have a similar (unpainted) fox and cubs under one of my bird baths.

Terra, were they originally bare of colour? Camaflaged to catch the birds bathing!

speaking of garden orniments, i have two very large planters that were given to my grandad , they are at least a hundred years old and a bird bath that belonged to my other grandparents and that is at least 70 years old .

We are such a throw away society it's good to see we are not all the same I think us gardeners like to hang on to things I have a bird bath we bought to celebrate the birth of our first grandchild he's 25 this year and there are now another 4 ! And there is something in the garden to celebrate them all , just love those foxes .

Thanks Kg, I also think it is a trait of those of a certain age! Besides, many products are not constructed to last, planned obsolescence on the manufacturers' part.

FOR ANGET. Since then Mrs Fox's muzzle broke off after frost but she's had a 'nose job to reattach it. I do have another cement fox cub, which is covered in moss, a plastic Grey Squirel, which has lost its nose too and some small stone items from Egypt (which I refuse to have in the house) but it's too chilly to go outside to photograph them.

Your fox looks grand Siris, I found my Mother Rabbits ears when talking my photo's, she has been mended many times but my hubby has some new glue, s'sposed to fix anything, I'm popping her ears back in place as soon as I find where he has hidden it and doesn't notice what I'm up to, have already been warned that it is expensive and not to be wasted....I ask you, " What can he mean by saying that"

Lincslass, what's the glue for if not for glueing? If He keeps it, it will be set solid in the tube next time he wants to use it!
