UPWARDS, put in a tall stake and grow a Clematis up it. Gravetyre Beauty in this case.

Attach a guy rope to the stake and grow a plant up it.
In this case a Billardiera longiflora, the berries, flowers pale yellow and finished.

Continue the rope horizontally and allow the Clematis to grow along it.

C. Gravtyre Beauty, ( no mildew so far this year)

To meet the pergola over the evening sun seat.

Grow a Clematis cirrihosa balearica up the left side allowing it to continue up the Elaeagnus shrub at the back.
On the other side grow a Clematis viticella Alba.

The" Gravtyre Beauty" is a BEAUTY, Siris and I like your seat under the arch among all the clem flowers but your lovely statue is lost in the shadows behind the bench. You should bring her out. Or is she more visible from another angle?.
Your garden and plants are most interesting. Thanks for showing.

The statue looks down along the path. She is on a plinth as she is not that tall. I did knock her over once and broke her head off, so better out of the way. OH glued it back with cement glue!

Your garden is a real treasure trove Siris! Some very ingenious ideas there!

Thank you Stera. I go to HPS members open gardens days, real enthusiasts, meet member friends, pick up good ideas from there often, and unusual plants.

So much there for the wildlife/pollinators, Sue! Lots of interest going on.
