What a great idea, Sticki, to put this lovely story on here for us all to enjoy. It reminds me of "The Man Who Planted Trees" . . . one of Monty Don's favourite books!

Thank you - it's absolutely beautiful - put on my faves. :)

I've never seen such a beautiful meadow. Thanks for that link Sticki! :)) I think the man is right...hard to look at that and be angry...if heaven is like that...:))))

6 Aug, 2011

Incredible! I've passed on the link to a local man who has bought his meadow , which is a start - hoping this will inspire him.

Oh Sticki, how amazing, so glad you showed us. I've dabbled in this kind of thing and its not easy to achieve. I was wondering how they managed to get the flower seed to grow in a field amd then read the land was cleared, drained, ploughed and harrowed making it perfect for the flower seed. It must have cost a fortune to do but wonderful. Going to add your blog to my favourites, thank you.

Im glad you all liked it as much as i did ~ great that we have GoY to be able to share it!!

6 Aug, 2011

I've just seen this Sticki, it's marvellous isn't it! There are a lot of those plants that I grow in our garden, but they call them different names! Really useful article Sticki, thanks for putting it on!

6 Aug, 2011

I thought you would like it! wish it was near here so i could walk past it every day!

7 Aug, 2011

I think scarify is the word they use to prepare land for wild flowers. Hard work but worth a good try!!
Just blogetted the Tetbury little wildflower meadow, inspired by this wonderful link. :)

I have been now to this wild flower meadow, I will do a blog later, with a few photos!

Looking at this on a really dreary day cheered me up no end. It was absolutely beautiful. I read some of the reviews after it which appalled me.Why can't people look at something like this and be happy about it?

10 Aug, 2011

what did the reviews say rose ~ i didnt see them.

10 Aug, 2011

Well Stickie, I didn't look at them all but some of them were on the lines of "how can you call it a wildflower garden as some weren't wild flowers"One implied that it was for the publicity, some were appalled by it for various reasons. One person even suggested it was damaging the environment and another complained that the seeds would spread were they weren't wanted. Can you believe it. You ought to go back and read it yourself. I was disgusted by what some people said. Its a sad world now when people can't look at something beautiful like this and appreciate it,especially after all the hard work they put in.

10 Aug, 2011

Well I and a few million bees etc would be very happy is they self seeded!

10 Aug, 2011

i dont know if i want to be depressed rose ~ thanks for reading it for me!!! i agree with you ~ some people just moan anyway.
