Taking a break from the hard slog of alterations which will be revealed ...

I thought I would just capture a few of the treasures hanging on in the garden.
In the front garden we have Leycesteria showing off its pheasant tails,
and then the lovely flower cart my neighbour Paul made me (as some of you have seen before) now filled with trailing Petunia and Fuchsia.
Now going to the back garden we have a Cotoneaster against the fence, surrounding the statue there is the Shrub Cotinus, Perovskia russian sage,Shrubs Viburnum Variegatum and Ilex `golden king` then almost swamping it all is the Japonese Anemone which has got to go.
The last flushes of the lovely perfumed rose `Aloha together with Lavatera `Barnsley`
and a sport of Aloha is `Dixieland Linda `a small climber with not quite the heady scent of its parent but non the less lovely.
nearly finished folks, the last offering is the pretty red rose `love knot` together with more cosmos.
and Schizostylis Sedum Cosmos and Lavender.
this picture should have been before the last one, dont know what happened I seem to be having a lot of trouble blogging at the moment.lol.
THE END.

Lovely pictures Stroller. I do like that longish shrub border - all looks so healthy. Some lovely colour you have there.
I hope you are not going to keep us in suspenders too long to see what you've been up to :)))

You've got some lovely plants. They're giving a nice late show. The rose on that trellis is beautiful :o)

Glad you like the rose Juna,
Thanks Hywel and by the way the one and only Cactus I own is in bud again, must be doing something right.!
Sticki they do shine out like stars but any white flower seems to have that effect.
Thanks Rose ~ your repeating have you been eating cucumber out of your allotment.lol.
Scottish its rained all afternoon so those suspenders will have to remain tight until weather permitting I can complete the project.

Best of luck with getting rid of your japonese anemone, once established they seem to come up again no matter how much you dig them up. I speak from bitter experience lol.

Love the red rose showing through the cosmos Stroller, in fact its lovely to see all your roses, they suffered so much this year but at long last we all seem to have some to admire, the cart looks smashing as well, I`m also curious to see what you are up to now, lol...

lovely Stoller. I hope you get that Jap Anemone out ok, they are devils to dig out I find! Have you noticed your roses generally lacking perfume this year? I have. It has to be the lack of sun, warmth and too much rain up here. I was wondering if anyone else's were the same?

Hi Hywel, will post a pic as soon as it opens.
Jen and Karensusan ~ Hope its not as difficult as everyone thinks, its behaved itself up to now as its taken about 5yrs to spread to this size and hasn`t seeded itself anywhere else.
Karensusan glad you mentioned the scent of the roses as I was commenting to a friend that the scent from them and the tracheospermum jasmine didn`t seem as strong this year.
Hi Carole ~ I had another good day yesterday the weather was kind and I got quite a bit done, still a way to go yet, it gets harder as you age, lol.

My roses are also lacking in perfume but at least I have some now, lol....

Yes, I would have to agree with you there Lincslass! :D

Your gardens still looking lovely Phyl. It's strange about the rose perfume, but I do think they may need warmth to cast their perfume. When are you going to reveal all Stroller you big tease?:-)

My umph hiding at the moment too, but must dig up and split geraniums and show Spritz and, I think, Dottydaisy how I did it ...if I manage it:-)

I love the first pic of the Leycesteria ... a lovely shrub but not one seen often around here ... not in front gardens anyway! ... I took out my Japanese Anemones as the stems and leaves seemed to have become really coarse ... still keep finding small shoots though ... grr!
