Anyone for Chocolate!!!

Meaning of course Akebia (the chocolate vine). It seems to me that this year it has fewer leaves but many more flowers … no complaints mind.

Moving on down the garden a little and I come to two of my favourites, Osmanthus which is filling the air with its scent and Viburnum `Gwenllian` which seems to be in flower forever.

I thought I`d also show you the pond with the fish enjoying this afternoons sunshine

Well they didn`t enjoy it for long, I can hear the thunder and its just started to rain, so its indoors for me.
Happy gardening to you all.

I love your sheltered corner with the stone walls. Is it a sun trap in summer?

I've not come across Akebia before Stroller. Does it smell of chocolate? The rest of the garden is looking good. No thunder here, just a couple of spots of rain, but the sun's back out again now.

Hello Amsterdam, this is the more shady part of the garden, however, its nice to sit here in the late evening sun.
Waddy ... yes you do get the smell of chocolate if your close by.

Yes, that's a good thing really that the Akebia Quinata has less leaves as the flowers aren't all that big or noticeable so the less leaves, the more you see the flowers, I suppose. I remember my one at my my last but one house. I loved it but was amazed one year at how many flowers it actually had that couldn't be seen. After that, I actually cut leaf stems off so I could
see the flowers and the fruits which occassionally developed.

Thanks Stera and SBG
Sandra the flowers should be showing soon ... perhaps as Paul says they are hiding under the leaves.
Paul I`m glad there`s someone as daft as me I`ve removed the leaves on more than one occasion.lol.
