My latest garden project ....

This is showing the Right side of the patio with the bench arbor which is sitting over two large drains, unfortunately we had some plumbing problems and it was a nightmare to remove the bench (it`s so heavy) so we decided not to put it back there (its now in the front garden).
We decided to encroach onto the patio and make a small gravel garden.
I`m quite pleased with it, it seems to have opened up the patio more.
Just had to include this next photo i1`s of the Dragea I purchased from roseland in Cornwall. This is its third year and its full of blooms and the perfume fills the garden.

I know its not gardening but this is what I`ve spent my time making when not able to get in the garden, it was an old kitchen wall cupboard which I felt was too good to be scrapped so its been cut down and upholstered and is now a very useful piece of furniture.
My newly made large footstool is ideal for days like to day when its so blisteringly hot all I want to do is sit back put my feet up and enjoy a cool drink.
Hope your all enjoying your gardens.

Well done Phyl - yes it’s satisfying, isn’t it, getting things done. You deserve to put up your feet now 🙂.

Good luck with the persuading Lincs I`m sure you will get it done.
Sheilabub ... we are definitely resting at the moment as its just far too hot to do anything - typical gardener the weather is never just right!lol.
Thanks Karen, hope you`re taking a little time out for yourself after the very successful open garden and flower arrangement visitors.

Love your bench arbour, Stroller, I am sure it masked the drains well ( I have used a herb garden to 'hide' mine which was an eyesore just outside the back door but the planter is not quite big enough to do the job properly), yet what could be nice than a bench arbour in the front garden, a lovely spot to pause for a rest while working there. I love what you have done with the cupboard too, what an inspiration!

I am taking some time out Phyl. Florists are coming next month, but I am going shopping this morning. Its quite funny...next week I am off to York for three days with the main aim of buying my outfit for Rachel’s wedding. But in order to do this, I will have to go shopping for clothes to go to York! Lol!

Thanks Xela a herb garden sounds good, we did like the bench arbour there but it was just too much hassle to move when we had to get to the drains.
Karen ... I just love your logic.lol.

Well, that's a very good idea to create a gravel garden, I like it a lot. What a talented lady you are transforming the kitchen cupboard ... looks great ... :o)

Now Phyll, you know nobody likes a show off :-) Some people are too clever for their own good. Your patio looks lovely now and as for your storage footstool, you could go into business:-)

Well Ba if folks can have pink patio areas with lighting then folks is entitled to put their feet up when indoors in order to sip their wine in comfort.
Thanks Shirley glad you like.

Isn't it pleasing when something comes together to your satisfaction, the patio and the gravel garden look more open and yes very good together, must be a treat sitting at that little table underneath the arch with the perfume wafting around you, looks attractive also.. Well done with your latest project, you have a very nice footstool and storage space now Stroller, I'm trying to persuade my hubby to make new seats for our kitchen stools, I'll show him your photo's to see if I can inspire him, he likes a project as long as he can do things at his own speed...
