July Highlights

It’s been a mixed month weather wise, wind, rain, heat, chill. A bit of everything. Typical July in the NE of England really, take every minute of the good stuff while you can, whatever it is, cos it’ll change in the blink of an eye.

Our new addition of a Frog is very interesting to us, not sure why he/she’s chosen our garden, no pond, but it’s over 3 weeks now.

My latest favourite plant ever – first time of having one – a Lychnis.

And the most vibrant Sunny Susan Red Orange Thunbergia which is right outside our kitchen window and is glorious.

If you would like to keep your frog in way of free pest control in your garden put out a shallow dish of water under a bush or in a dark shady area. I don’t have a pond either but come across frogs & froglets frequently and try to make sure there is moisture/ water in my garden.

Thank you for the tip Amsterdam - I have a few shallow bowls of water in the shade for the birds to bathe in, maybe that is what the frog likes. He seems to prefer my Dahlia pot for sleeping in.

It is the same here in Scotland with the weather. We get frogs too in our garden and we have no pond.

We have a pond and no frogs...that's life! Glad to hear you cherish your little chap - long may he live with you!
Re the Lychnis - good that you like it because if its anything like mine it will produce a big family next year! Its a grand cheerful plant isn't it - nice bright flowers and pretty furry leaves - what's not to like?

Oh I hope it has lots of babies!!! I would love that, it is so bright and big - it's my perfect cheery plant - even before it flowered, the grey foliage was pretty. If I could have it all round the garden I'd be a happy bunny.
If our frog has a family, you're welcome to come and adopt some of them - ha-ha!

Isn't it good Stroller - so many flowers and even in a pot it grows tall and spreads out wide too.
