Maytime ... busy and happy ...

There were stormy days …

……………………………………………………………………..

… but followed by blue skies and pretty blossom …

……………………………………………………………………..

… with cheerful colours down below …

……………………………………………………………………..

Sprouting birch leaves gave camouflage for the robin …

……………………………………………………………………..

… and my back garden was bathed in pale pink buds …

……………………………………………………………………..

… and shocking shades of tangerine …

……………………………………………………………………..

In the town park, near the river, Conker’s tricks performance for the crowds went extremely well.
Here, he is finishing his ‘bee and ladybirds’ routine …

……………………………………………………………………..

Army cadets were watching Conker’s display …

……………………………………………………………………..

… and the mediaeval blacksmith looked on …

……………………………………………………………………..

… and also the ancient wood-turner …

……………………………………………………………………..

We ended with Conker’s piano and flags …

……………………………………………………………………..

As a ‘thank you’, Conker was presented with a Teddy Bear Tesco voucher …
… mmm … shall we use it to buy Bonios ? …

……………………………………………………………………..

… and Conker was also pleased with the 2 items I bought for him from the stall in aid of the local junior football club…
… two little teddies … 5p each ! …

……………………………………………………………………..

Back at home, the robin was enjoying his afternoon bath …

……………………………………………………………………..

… and birdsong heralded the arrival of Exochorda macrantha ‘The Bride’.

She paused a while to relax along the garden bench …
… spreading her flowing white wedding dress …

……………………………………………………………………..

We’ve been entering more charity pet photo shows, and Conker’s pictures continue to do well …

These are his ribbons for an Easter ‘Champion Pet’ award, and then, yesterday he won a silver trophy …
… Best In Show, in aid of funds for Pets As Therapy…

……………………………………………………………………..

… and I won a special rosette award for my GoY avatar photo …
Bonsai the Welsh Terrrier pushing his wheelbarrow…

Bonsai is still much-missed, so I fixed his rosette to a Welsh Terrier toy, for a pic. in my front garden …

……………………………………………………………………..

Truffle hasn’t won anything lately, but he often has good intentions …
Here’s Truffle’s latest escapade after our return from the garden centre …
… secret schemes to dig up my back lawn to make room for our new rockery plants !

…………………………………………………………………….

This blog is dedicated to the lovely Lincs Lass …

… Sue has shared GoY blogs and pictures with me for the past seven years, and she has always been interested in my gardens, and supportive of my stories about my pets.

Sue .. I wish you a speedy return to the very best of health …

A lovely dedication, TT, and a great blog. So pleased your little helpers are still doing well with the photo comps. and the demonstrations. Will look forward to seeing more about your back garden plans (are you digging all the lawn up?)

Your garden is very pretty TT
I'm pleased you had a nice day by the river and that everyone enjoyed Conker's performances :o)
It sounds fun entering the charity pet photo shows. Good luck with any more you do !
Never mind if Truffle hasn't won anything recently. He's there giving his support, and that means a lot :o)

It's nice that you have dedicated this blog to Sue.
I send her my best wishes and hope she's back to full health after her medical treatment ... x

Thanks Paul ... I'm pleased you enjoyed my blog :o)

Lol. Gee ... I'm not planning to dig up my back lawn ... Blame Truffle ... he has been watching too many TV garden shows and, with that pink spade, he has ambitions to be the canine version of Chris Beardshaw .. digging up my grass and replacing with decking where my dogs can enjoy morning sunshine !!!

Thank you Siris... yes, my pets are my family :o)

Hi Paul ... photo 3 shows my new anemones... I was told they were my grandmother's favourite flower, and although she died before I was able to meet her, I like to think of her when I see the 'wind flowers'.

Thanks Neena ... you can see we've been busy but happy... hoping to catch up with everything this week.

Hello Hywel .. lovely words you've written ... I've even won rosettes in charity competitions for Crocus my budgie, and for my prevous budgie ! Lol. Truffle is a great character and I tell him his photo win turn will come soon. :o)
Yesterday in my gardens, my dogs had great fun posing for LOTS more pictures, for me to enter in future competitions. We really enjoy the photo shoots !

Yes ... we are all sending positive hugs to Sue. x

I'm glad you're keeping your back lawns TT, so that the dogs can have a nice green background in their photos.
It's the colour of love and healing :o)

Truffle is much more handsome than Chris Beardshaw :D

Hi again Hywel ...
yes, I need my back lawns as flat space for my dogs to run around, and for when they are practising their trick routines ...
... but I'm glad I took away my front lawn and replaced it with flowers etc. Doing that last autumn, has now resulted a lot less work for me, and more time to enjoy my back garden with my dogs. :o)
Truffle woofs thanks to you for the nice compliment... He also says he has a brighter pink garden spade than Chris Beardshaw :o) x

A lovely, joyful blog Terra.

Conker and Truffle are true local celebrities!

Congratulations on all your successes, there will be more to come I am sure!!

18 May, 2015

I do love your blogs Terra ! They make a dull day seem sunny ! I'm sure we are all thinking about Sue ( Lincslass)!

Terra how can one not get better with so many good vibes heading my way, we've seen a bit of everything over those years haven't we, tears, laughter and lots of treasured moments shared with Team Terra, so many Goy members all enjoying your brilliant photo shoots with Conker, Truffle, Crocus and of course your friendly little robin in your beautiful much loved garden, its always a pleasure to read your blogs and see your lovely photo's...
I too wish you all lots of luck as you continue to help these very worthy charities as well as entertaining lots more people with your gorgeous boys, I know Truffle always shares in Conkers wins and quite rightly so, one always needs a team mate to learn with, pass the skills on to especially a good friend, I feel sure he'll soon get some more awards, he'll always have the "Happy Chappie Goy Award " its nice to see the lovely Bonsai's photo still helping along the way Terra, doesn't matter how long its been since we lost them, we still love and miss them ..,
Thankyou so much Terra for this lovely blog xxx.

Thank you Pam, Chris and Rose .. and yes we are all sending positive thoughts and hugs to you Sue ...

What a wonderful comment from you, and one I will always treasure... you have been kind, enthusiastic and supportive ... constantly ... over 7 GoY years...

... you joined just a few months after I did in 2008 .. seems a while ago now, doesn't it ... We are hoping 2015 will all turn out well for you .. x x x

Gosh Terra we went through the mill in those first years, good times and bad, have had our share of heartbreak and stress as well as the lovely times, I can still remember some of the battles, proving its not just about the gardening, life always enters into it as well, I have always said that Goy saved my sanity at one of the worst times of my life, kept me company when I couldn't sleep and was feeling upset and lonely, shared thoughts I didn't feel I could burden my family with, it has always seemed like a support group in times of need and I know I'm not the only member to feel that way.....

19 May, 2015

... Yes... agree with you there, Sue ...
and Shahida has just added a 'like' ... she joined GoY just six days after I did, way back in August 2008 !

19 May, 2015

I must have followed shortly after you then, in September 2008. Didn't realise it was so long ago but I agree with your sentiments entirely - GoY is a brilliant release valve at times and I treasure the kindness of so many members over the years (my little bear still travels in my handbag with me, TT).

19 May, 2015

Oh... that's good to know about the little bear, Gee ... he must have clocked up quite a few teddy miles :o)

19 May, 2015

He will be travelling to the Farne Islands with me at the end of the month. My daughter and granddaughter are taking me to see the Puffins. I am so excited :)

19 May, 2015

Oh, that's wonderful ... I hope teddy can speak 'Farne'.. great photo opportunity for you ... maybe a picture of little bear with the puffins :o)

19 May, 2015

Such a lovely cheer you up blog and well done conker !
