VISIT TO HOUGHTON HALL, KINGS LYNN

Another fantastic garden we visited whilst on holiday in Norfolk. My visions of a flat and boring countryside were turned upside down during that week..it was a beautiful place!
The verbascums were beautiful, as was the drift of monarda.
Then there was this amazing flame fountain..I took a series of pictures to show the action!
Another fountain in a pond at a height to sit and trail your fingers through the water..
A pretty “knot” garden and a lavender walk..
A nice way to grow apples..a beautiful sunken garden and the entrance to the rose garden..
There were some amazingly shaped hedges too.
Definitely worth a visit!

That sculpture by the flame fountain, is it meant to be a Pheonix?

Aha, glad you made a visit to these beautiful gardens, Tet ... we went in early July so it is great to see it again a couple of months later ... the Hydrangeas in pots in the sunken garden area are thriving! ... Wasn't the water flame a heck of a surprise though ... lol! ... :o)))
