Our Feathered Friends

Here’s a small collection of some of our bird pictures taken last year. Hope you enjoy them. One of these days we will get a good picture of a Jay – but they are very camera shy & quick to get out of the way. There’s 3 – 4 fly around the garden regularly.

i love the bird blogs in goy as i live in a city and apart from sparrows black birds and starlings there is perhaps 3 other rare visits from say finch or thrush.
i have to travel many miles to even find a hawk last saw a owl 50 years ago and a weka about as long ago plenty on the net but real life very rare.

Great pics TCG, I particularly like the last one and you know how to use 'central focusing' on the owl.

Great you got such a close up shot of the male greater spotted woodpecker. I had a couple as frequent visitors last year. I have only seen the female this year so far. You are lucky to get the owl photo. I have seen one in my garden but not got a photo yet.

Love the first pic of the beautiful barn owl.particularly. We have a female great spotted woodpecker visit too....usually on one of the peanut feeders.
The last photo is wonderful...are they swans ?

It was our neighbour Will who managed to get the barnowl pic, but isn't it just beautiful? Yes Bonkers, it's swans - i've just been through all the pics & named the birds. We're lucky - we see the Jays & Woodpeckers every day & a whole selection of smaller birds.
