Pembrokeshire, Coreside Nursery.

Last weekend my wife, my dog Bramble and myself spent five glorious days in Pembrokeshire.
We rented a little cottage (possible an old stable?) which was fantastic. A short walk to the coastal path near Little Haven.
We tried to cram in as much as possible while we were there. Visiting all the beaches nearby Bramble was in heaven.
We spent time away from the coast visiting a wollen mill (£90.00 pounds later and my wife had convinced me a new rug for the hall was bought). Up in the wooded hills and valleys and both Bramble and ourselves were worn out. Mind you I did get some lovely litle bits of slate from the stream to use as plant labels.
I would hate to guess how many miles we walked but every evening Bramble sat by the log burning stove and fell a sleep.
We visited only one nursery while we were there (Iwas very good) and it was Coreside Nursery.
Coreside Nursery is owned by Sandra who is also a GOY member and it was well worth visiting. Tucked right down in the corner of Pembrokeshire, on the side of a valley not to far from the beach. It was a pleasure to meet Sandra and get a tour of her garden and nursery, and get really jealous really quickley at the amount of space she has. Polytunnel, large buildings that can only be described as a small barn and plenty of space to grow lots and lots of plants.
Sandra propogates her plants and is peat free and I would urge anyone that wants a holiday away from the hustle and bustle to visit Pembrokeshire and definately visit Coreside Nursery. But do take some pennies as she has a lot of interesting plants for sale.
Me and Sandra (note the bag of plants I have just purchased) The beach near Coreside Nursery was used in the Harry Potter film The Deathly Hallows. This is my wife and Bramble going up the sand dunes.
Heres a few pic’s from our visit to this really pretty peacefull part of the world.
The coastal path is easy to navigate. Make sure you take plenty of water and some nibbles, we found that the two twix we had in the rucksack was no substitute for the steak meal that was waiting for me in the Swan Inn in Little Haven on completion of our walk.
Bramble resting while I enjoy my steak.
A fantastic weekend, we are planning another visit in October. (dogs are not allowed on some of the beaches from May-Sept). Which I think is a good idea, plus it means we get to go out of season when its cheaper.
If I win the lottery I will be buying one of the lovely cottages there and moving.
